HELP MAKE OUR STREETS AND COMMUNITY SAFER!
The City of Milwaukie is excited to work with schools throughout the district to support Safe Routes to Schools. Bike and pedestrian safety is a high priority for our city and neighborhood. We’ve developed and and are beginning to implement our safety action plan and are looking for interested parents to volunteer and work with the Ardenwald Neighborhood District Association and the Public Safety Advisory Committee to accomplish the following goals:
- Improve safety around school property
- Improve safety for major street crossings
- Reduce barriers for walking, biking or bussing to school
The action plan is in place and will need to be maintained annually. We have some grant funds to put towards improvement and education projects. The Safe Routes to School Action Plan is an important tool to attract funding for implementing transportation and safety projects. There are many benefits for kids & families to walk or bike to school – please join our efforts!
